The MMFF 2013 officially kicks off its nationwide screening of the eight official entries for Metro Manila Film Festival 2013.
Based on the reports of 39th MMFF 2013 official organizers, the Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA), the first day of showing was an immense success to the movie industry.
According toMMDA Chairperson Francis Tolentino on ABS-CBNnews.com that the Christmas Day box office of the annual film festival racked up a total of P134 million .
This year’s result is 23% higher compared to the last year’s opening-day gross which was at P105 million only. The total earning of 2012 MMFF was over P700 million while 2011 MMFF was only P636 million.
Here’s tentative rankings of MMFF 2013 in terms of gross earnings: “My Little Bossings,” ranked number one followed by “Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy,” “Pagpag: Siyam na Buhay,” and “Kimmy Dora: Ang Kiyemeng Prequel,” respectively.
My Little Bossings – P50.4 million
Girl, Boy, Bakla, Tomboy – P 47.6 million
Pagpag – P 23.7 million
